Bailiffs are there to take away your possessions if you owe money and can't repay them. A bailiff cannot force themselves into your property, unless they are collecting unpaid fines. However they may gain access by peaceful entry to the property by someone else. If a bailiff hasn't entered your home before, then it is important to understand that they cannot come into your house unless you or another adult gives them permission. The bailiffs are only allowed to take things which belong to you.
If you are worried about bailiffs coming to take property from you, our lawyers are here to advise you.
